GÅ BARA 19 artists in collaboration

Keep Moving, The book. Excerpts in english
Keep Moving is a book by Abdi Elmi and Linn Bursell that was published by Ordfront 2016. This is teenager Abdi Elmi's own story about the war in Somalia, the dangerous journey through the Sahara and across the Mediterranean and finally the struggle to have a decent life in Europe. Together with the author Linn Bursell, Abdi Elmi testifies about the abuse and humiliation that refugees are subjected to on the road to Europe and the consequence of a collapsed migration policy.
But it is also about solidarity and friendship in difficult situations.

In 2020, the newspaper Nyhetsbyrån Järva published the book as a serial, and asked 19 artists if they wanted to contribute with illustrations to the book. Here we show the pictures they created around Abdi Elmi's story.
